I am going to Key West in July,,,We are staying at the Dupont House for 3 nights..I was wandering if anyone has stayed there and can tell me anything about the house??

I just booked the Dupont House of the last week in June. Please don%26#39;t pee in the pool.

i understand... there%26#39;ll be enough time for the chlorine to clean it out anyway.

Just got back late last night --- The DuPont House is absolutely fantastic! A very nice house, nice furnishings and the pool is great also. You park at the very end of DuPont Ln on the left (marked on a building) and then walk down an alleyway across from the parking spot along a 10%26#39; privacy fence which is covered with bougainvillea that is fully bloomed out with bright pink flowers. Walk to your door, open it, and there you are standing at the edge of the pool with the french doors in front of you that lead into the living room. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom and all was very quiet, the other couple said they could here every step we took since the upstairs bedroom is directly over the downstairs bedroom. Nice kitchen, we left the next guests two Coronas in the fridge, hopefully the cleaning gals won%26#39;t steal them!!! You get to pick what time you want the cleaning people to come by which is nice, they clean the pool every Thursday and the bug guys come by also once a week to keep the critters at bay. Now remember, this is a small island where everyone and everything shares the same space and that the bug guys come by once a week. The couple with us found a small scorpion that had crawled into a towel that was laying on the floor - no big deal, just check your clothes. Also, we had a few baby lizards (less than 2'; long) that made it into the house. Just trap them in a cup and take them back outside, all the big lizards were hanging by the pool! This house works so well for two couples, a family, or whatever........

If you do take a family with kids, fair warning, when you walk down DuPont Ln, turn right on Petronia to go to Duval, there is a drag queen show on that corner of Duval that you have to walk right past. No big deal during the day as it is just another closed bar, but at night, there are some real characters standing out front (some with nothing more than a g-string on. So if you have kids less than 18, you may get a few questions you are not ready to answer just yet.

Other than that - to us, this is one of the nicest rental houses on the island for 4-6 people. The people at Center Court were very easy to deal with. We will most likely always rent from them on all of our return trips to KW.

Our Harleys were very secure in the parking spot and we really did not feel like having to lock them down at all. It really is a back alleyway. The house also makes a great party house, there are a total of 12 chairs by the pool. Enjoy it - We will be back as long as the owner continues to lease the property.

I%26#39;ve got 18 days left to wait... so agonizing. I%26#39;ve stayed on Center St. before so I%26#39;ve been by that drag bar many times. Didn%26#39;t phase me but my dad had a good chuckle at it.

we%26#39;ve decided to break up the horrendously hung over drive home with a few nights in South Beach. never been there but have only heard good things.

I will try to get some photos posted. We didn%26#39;t get home till 1am Tuesday morning and I was here at the office by 8am. Parents headed home today after taking care of our kids all week so hopefully I will get a chance to post some up over the next few days. Seems to take me a few more days to recover after a week of partying than it did just a few years ago. Something about being in my mid 30%26#39;s I guess! Your gonna love the house!
