Eating so far.....still love Sanibel though

We have only found two places we will go back to for breakfast and that is Over Easy Cafe.........great prices, great service and great food.

We tried Gramma Dots at around 4:30 pm and they had a great peel n eat dinner plate. We will go back there too. A little pricey, but the same as all the other establishments.

We tried others and were not impressed and don%26#39;t know if we will go back.

Jerry%26#39;s for breakfast. Waitress was not very friendly, was even rather snappy with the family sitting behind us. Food was not good at all. Omelet was too done and hash browns were so brown could not even be eaten.

Gaspillaros...had lunch. Strawberry salad was good. The rest of the meal had a little to be desired. Maybe just a sandwich would have been better.

McT%26#39;s was ok, a bit pricey though I thought. Would maybe go back again.

Schnapper%26#39;s Hots. Hot dog was good, did not care for the wings.

What is it with drinks here? I am talking about soda and tea? We paid 2.75 at one place for soda. One place did not even give you refills. I know we can always get water, but it has a totally different taste than we are accustomed to.

Sasnibel water -to put it nicely-sucks.Buy bottled.It%26#39;s worth it.Especially if you%26#39;re making your own coffee.

Bottled water is a MUST. I even use it for cooking and especially for ice cubes. Tap water is just awful.

I agree, soda is exceptionally over-priced. Up until about 2001, food was cheaper than where I live. Now, it%26#39;s as high and higher and quality is less consistent. Really tough to find a moderate priced place that%26#39;s also good. I usually have lunch out down there. Even so, it was $20-$25+ for lunch with tip! I figure Doc Ford%26#39;s was the most reliable for the price, at least at lunch and them Grandma Dot%26#39;s.

The water is not tasty on Sanibel due to the desalinization process the city puts it through. Yes that is right we drink sea water. That is why the coffee is rough at most places as well.
