Walking distance from Port Orleans Riverside to Saratoga

Just wondering if anyone knew how long the walk was? We have booked a trip to Disney and we are staying at Saratoga Springs Villas. My sister and her husband will already be there a day before and they are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Since we have a toddler, they were going to walk over to our resort and then hit the parks. Should they rent a car or rely in the Disney transportation system to get back and forth to our resort? Thanks!

I%26#39;m not 100% sure but almost certain its not walkable. There aren%26#39;t a lot of trails connecting the resorts, just roads I would not walk on

If you look at this map:

www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/propertymap.htm

Saratoga is 18, POR is 15. You%26#39;d have to walk all the way thru PoFQ across and down some roads (and the distance is longer than it looks).

Your best bet is probably to connect via Downtown Disney

I agree there%26#39;s no walking path from one to the other.

What you can do is walk to Downtown Disney%26#39;s Marketplace area, find the boat dock, and catch the boat going to Port Orleans.

It is a very nice 20 minute boat ride and you get to see some areas of Disney not used anymore by guests, like the old treehouse resort.

Hi CSD,

Sorry, you cannot walk from Port Orleans Riverside to Saratoga Springs resort, it is too far and there is no actual walkway.

I would suggest just meeting each other at the parks.

However, since Saratoga Springs is near Downtown Disney, they, and you, will have the benefit of taking the boat from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney and back, which is a really nice journey.

No way you can walk from this resort to another, though they are fairly close together. There just isn%26#39;t any way to do it. I%26#39;d suggest renting a car and driving-both resorts are served by buses and they can be kind of slow.

There is not a direct path to both resorts, but you will be able to either get on a boat from Downtown disney to POR which is a beautiful ride, or get on a bus at Downtown Disney. You are able to walk to Downtown Disney from Saratoga Springs, if you are staying on property and just hitting the Disney parks, I wouldn%26#39;t bother hiring a car as the transport is really good.

Thank you all for valuable information. I think the way to go for us to take the boat and meet at D/T Disney. We thought about renting a car, but it may not be ideal since we would rent one of the car seats. I have heard those car seats are not that sanitary. Thanks again for your input!

It would be a lot easier to just meet at the parks-if you all meet at Downtown Disney, you then have to take one of their buses to a Disney Resort and then get another form of transportation to the park from the resort. Since you will already both be at Disney resorts, this is taking you way out of your way to get to the parks.Unless you are planning on shopping first, meeting at DTD is just riding in circles since you can%26#39;t get to the parks from there on Disney transportation

It would be best to meet at the parks, you can easily meet at the bus stops that way you are shaded.

With the use of the bus or the boat to visit eachother it will make it easy to spend some time together. The bus to POR is the first one closest to downtown marketplace which is closest to Saratoga Springs.

You can compare resorts and see which one has the better transportation if heading to the bus stops at the same time.

I would not rent a car and use their car seats, that is part of the reason we did not rent a car last time. I did not want my son in a dirty car seat. Years ago in Fort Lauderdale my daughter was close to the age to not us a car seat, I booked it anyway. Once I saw it I asked them to take it off. Bring your carseat if you rent, it is worth the extra charge for luggage.
