Help with directions from Nashville

I know this has probably been asked many times. I did a search and the directions below were the only ones I could find (thanks baked). We%26#39;ll be traveling with a 2-year-old, so I would like the easiest and fastest route possible.

Can any seasoned Destin travelers let me know if you think it is the best route to Destin from Nashville?

I-65 south to exit Alabama #114 (Georgiana), east on AL 106 to U.S. 31 south. It merges with AL 55. Continue south toward Andalusia, then U.S. 29 south to AL 137 south toward Wing. AL 137 becomes FL 189. Continue south on Fl 189 to Fl 4 to U.S. 90. East on 90 to Crestview, south on FL 85 to Niceville and left at the T towards the MidBay Bridge. Take the bridge ($2.50 toll, I think) across the bay and at U.S. 98 go right to Destin. Or left to Sandestin.

We just got back a week and a half ago and we followed Baked%26#39;s directions and it went very smoothly with little traffic. We got off I-65 going on Sunday morning and came back early on Saturday so can%26#39;t speak of other times but that time of day is smooth sailing.

Probably mileage wise 331 south from Montgomery is no doubt a bit shorter and easier to follow, but I think Baked%26#39;s may be faster. Baked%26#39;s aren%26#39;t as complicated as they sound.

We went to Ft. Walton Beach which use the same directions till you get within shouting distance of the beach then turn left to continue to Destin or go straight to FWB. It was 610 miles from our front door in Louisville to the front door of our condo.

We always go down with Baked%26#39;s directions now. The only way to go!

Probably take you around 7.5-8 hours from N%26#39;ville to Destin.

hmmm...610 miles in 8 hours. Must drive like JoeMammy, no stopping.

It%26#39;s only 450 miles from Nashville to Destin.

Yeah it was 610 to Louisville. Took us about 10 hours course that includes stoppin%26#39; at Crystal%26#39;s for some gourmet vittles!

What are your directions? We are in Destin right now and will be leaving on Saturday. We need shorter directions to get to 65 North. We are headed to KY. Are there easier, shorter directions? Thanks so much!!

we are having a BLAST here! These are the most beautiful beaches we%26#39;ve ever seen! The water is so clear! We are at the Pelican... it%26#39;s not as crowded as people say!!

AL 137 becomes FL 189. Continue south on Fl 189 to Fl 4 to U.S. 90. East (left) on 90 to Antioch Rd. (Note: Coming from the north the road is called Antioch Road. From the south, it%26#39;s PJ Adams Parkway). Take a right. This road bypasses Crestview and let%26#39;s you out south of I-10 at FL 85.

Turn right (south) on FL 85 to Niceville and left at the T towards the MidBay Bridge.

Take the bridge ($2.50 toll) across the bay and at U.S. 98 go right to Destin, left to Sandestin or straight ahead to Crystal Beach.

It%26#39;s not as complicated as it sounds. Stop at the welcome center at the AL state line, get a map and have your picture taken in front of the rocket!

lol, gourmet vittles @ Crystals. I personally like Whataburger. Had an ';In and Out'; burger 2 weeks ago. Quite the culinary experience.
