Is it really that cheap in Orlando this year?

Friends have just come back from orlando and say that cloths %26amp; electronic items are a lot cheaper than last year (taking into account the good 拢 / $ exchange rates). Has anyone been lately, if so, can you give some examples please. I%26#39;m told there are a number of offers (usually seen in sale periods)

We are going in August / September, so i%26#39;ll buy a few more suitcases incase!

I%26#39;m really not an expert on this subject, but just let me tell you having spent 2 weeks in Scotland this month I would much rather be on your side of the currency exchange equation.

It seemed to me that whatever the dollar amount for a given item is in the US, the pound amount was similar, but with the dollar being worth less than 1/2 pound it effectively made everything cost me twice as much. So, I would guess you could expect for things, for the most part, to cost you half as much.

But I%26#39;m sure those from the UK will chime in on this.

To be honest last year the 拢-$ was better than it is now....so unless there are more sales over there i%26#39;d say if anything it would%26#39;ve dropped off as far as brits are concerned in comparison to last year...

this time last year we were able to get the rate touching 2.00...at the minute post offices ar offering $%26#39;s @ a rate of 1.90

Josephw51. Totally agree. The goods in the US are half the price they are here.In my humble opinion the goods, especially clothes, are much better quality. I do have to say that this year some of the prices have risen and it was a little dearer to shop. Love the country though.

joesephw51.. I agree. i went to orlando a few weeks back and on my return I found that what I had been paying out in dollars was now roughly what I was paying out in pounds an example: in walmart I brought 24pack of coke for $5 (拢2.50) when I got back somerfields want 70p a can or 拢2.29 for a six pack (Thats approx $4.60) even on a buy one get one free thats a difference.

Nintendo DS was $129 in walmart (拢65) they are 拢99 here,

Hi Rehsob, We were there in March and got some great deals e.g I got a Donna Karen ladies watch from Macy%26#39;s at $54,. Checked the price in a few stores when we got back, price was 拢85. Hubby got Sketchers $54, were 拢58 back here, lots more to mention but you get the drift. BARGAINS!!!! EvieCee.

Thanks for your comments. Our friends were saying that even allowing for the 2$ for a 拢 exchange rate, there seemed to be exeptionally good offers over and above this.

There always is regardless of the exchange rate so yes take an extra suitcase or two... ;-)

Have just got back a few days ago, have to say we found clothing and eating out very good value, our currency is the euro currently approx $1.53 to the euro. We were there over memorial weekend, and the shops had great sales, got DKNY jeans in MAcys for $16.00, nike trainers for son for $20.00 and lots more. Make sure you use all the discount vouchers you can pick up all over the place.
