Fury, Danger, Sebago, or....?

My boyfriend and I will be in Key West for the first time this Labor Day Weekend. We will fly in to FLL on Thursday night, and drive to Key West on Friday morning. We would like to do one of the full day snorkeling/kayaking tours on Saturday or Sunday.

I%26#39;ve heard that Fury, Danger and Sebago Island T%26#39;ing are all great, and I%26#39;m not sure which one to go with. We are vegetarians, so I would like to go with one that offers vegetarian options during the tour. We are also novice swimmers, and I heard it%26#39;s easier to take the stairs into the water from the Catamaran.

We would also like to go ParaSailing, and I believe only Fury%26#39;s all day tour includes ParaSailing.

We%26#39;d also like to Jet Ski, but I think we can just rent those separately.

I also noticed that Sebago has the Island T%26#39;ing as well as the Power Adventure, but I%26#39;m not sure of the difference.

Fury, Danger, Sebago, or....?

I went on Fury%26#39;s Ultimate Adenture last year, did the parasailing and jetskis as part of the trip anlong with the snorkling and kayaks. They also have a water play area with trampoline and rock climbing.

They offered muffins and friut for breakfast, cold cuts and fried chicken for lunch with pasta a potato salads. the food was from a grocery store deli but OK.

We are going to try Sebago%26#39;s Island Ting this year

for more of an eco adventure.

They all have websites that list there tours, prices and sample menus. Google them and see what suits you best.

You could do everything you want - snorkel, kayak, jet ski, and parasail - with the Fury%26#39;s Ulitmate Adventure.

I don%26#39;t know what they serve for breakfast and lunch but the other two trips serve salads and fruit and various types of bread for sandwiches so I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll have a problem.

The Danger Charters and Sebago Island T%26#39;Ing trips are very similar - breakfast, a snorkel stop, lunch, a kayak trip around a mangrove island, and drinks and snacks sailing back. The biggest difference is the boat, a smaller sailing ship for Danger which takes approx 20 people, and a larer catamaran for Sebago which takes 40 people and only goes out three times / week. I also think getting into and out of the water from the bigger cat is easier, but with the crew members helping and watching you, Danger is only slightly more difficult.

I do both of these trips each vacation in Key West and never get tired of them.

Whatever you decide, you should consider booking on-line before you go to guarentee a couple of spots and maybe save some money.

I saw that you mentioned doing jet ski rentals maybe sepereate. If so, there is a great tour that takes off from the Hyatt Resort and Marina (not sure of the company name). They give a tour around the island of KW and hit a few neat sand bars where you can get off and swim for a little bit. The tour is neat and you learn alot of cool facts. We saw a small nurse shark and some hermit crabs at the one sand bar. I also passed a really large sea turtle. I am not sure which one of us was more startled! It%26#39;s head was the size of a basketball.... too cool. The bay side is calmer but be warned when you hit the Atlantic side, it can be a bit choppier. Hold on tight. But shouldn%26#39;t be missed!

I looked at the websites and found the catamaran Echo trip....go to www.dolphinecho.com. Morning or afternoon, new boat, catamaran and motorized with sails, sounds great, so I booked it. We will see, I will report after our trip.

Sebago, Fury and Sunset Watersports all offer the ultimate adventure, all include para sailing and jet ski%26#39;s and all run about $139.00pp.

The Danger and Sebago%26#39;s Island Ting are a little more laid back with just kayaking and snorkeling.

If this is your first time, I recommend Danger. Although it does not have the steps into the water, there are fewer people on the boat, the crew are excellent, and you will get a little more personal attention. I also like where they take you snorkeling. It is usually a calmer area, and ideal for beginners.

The lunch is nice, and snacks include fresh pineapple, and humus.

We did the Fury all day trip during spring break this year. The jetskis were included. Price was steep but it was all day, and you can keep as busy as you like. My husband is a vegetarian, and he made out fine, the food is definately not the highlight of this trip, you may want to call ahead and se if they offer any ';vegetarian substitutions'; I am finding that often, if you ask ahead, companies offer alternatives.
