DIY Holiday?

Hi,

Would love to combine a holiday to Florida with a couple of days in New York, looked at the twin centre option with Virgin but can%26#39;t get the amount of days I would like.Would love to do 3 nights New York,15 nights Fairfield LBV and 3 nights in Hard Rock hotel Universal.Would be easy enough doing the hotels myself(I think)just don%26#39;t know how easy it would be to book the flights from New York to Orlando and who to book that fight with?

If you go on virginatlantic.com and click multi city fill in your details and it will give you a price flying into one city and out of the other...internal flights are next to nothing (well they are for us anyway!)

i%26#39;ve weighed up prices of a multi centre trip and found both me and my partner can get there for the price virgin would quote as each !!

Saying that ours is LA, Las Vegas and NYC - not florida...

It%26#39;s really, really easy to get a flight from NYC to Orlando and there%26#39;s a lot of options for airports. There%26#39;s Logan, Kennedy, and Newark (in NJ). For airlines, most major US airlines fly in and out. If you have any questions on who to fly with, you can always ask on the forum. I fly AirTran down to Orlando whenever I can (I%26#39;m in Western NY State, so I don%26#39;t use the NYC airports unless it%26#39;s a connection.)

**I don%26#39;t know why I said Logan (I think that%26#39;s DC) it%26#39;s LaGuardia. I knew that.

Hey Kat,

Actually, Logan airport is in Boston.

I%26#39;d definitely check out the US discount carriers like AirTran, Jet Blue (our fav) or Southwest. Sometimes you can get really nice fares on these.

Haha...thanks Kat. I don%26#39;t know what I was thinking. I just knew there was one that began with an L. Then I hit post and I felt something was wrong, so I looked it up. Knew Logan was somewhere on the East Coast :)

If you are looking at booking a multi-city itinerary it can be a lot cheaper if you book all of the flights with one airline. It also removes one potential problem, if you have a connecting flight anywhere along the way and you miss a connection you don%26#39;t have the issue of them arguing who is responsible. Try American Airlines or United I have travelled with both over the years and not experienced any major problems.

Careful, American Airlines is now charging $15/checked bag! (Just a reminder!)

Will have to do abit of research I think:)Thanks for the advice so far.

i always fly united as they allow one free stopover on the way to orlando and one on the way back, i usually fly to dulles, stay a few days and then fly to orlando but we have flown to hawaii with a stopover in San Fransisco on the way there and Las Vegas on the way back and we were only charged the price of a return flight heathrow to honolulu even though we had two additional internal flights.
