Please tell me about you experiences with the transfer from the airport to the park. We were going to drive to Orlando but now may fly.

The Disney Magical Express Service

We have had very good experience w/ Disney Magical Express. You likely already know, but you need to be staying at a WDW Resort in order to use this service. You receive special tags for your luggage to attach before you leave home that show which resort. Once you check your bags at your home airport, you will not see them again until they arrive at your room. As it could be a few hours before you see your bags, you should take anything you may need immediately in a carry-on. Our last trip we had 14 people, in 5 different rooms, coming from 2 different home airports, and everything went smoothly. Once you arrive at MCO you can skip baggage claim and go to the transportation area. There are Disney cast members to assist. I think there may have been a check-in area (but may be getting confused w/ Mears before this was available). There are separate lines depending upon which resort/resort area you are staying in. You enter the appropriate line and wait for the next transport to come (Disney cast members are there by the line and direct you). The motor coach will take you to the check-in area of your resort.

We have also had good experiences with DME.

There is a Check-in Counter at the Airport and they will direct you to your Bus Line.

I do caution you on one thing.

If your Flight is getting in late, you can bring your Bags yourself so you have everything you need for the night. We checked in at our Resort around midnight once and didn%26#39;t get our Bags til the next Morning. We had brought or PJs and such but still wish we had had our Bags. They arrived at the Resort but Guest Services doesn%26#39;t want to come knocking on your door in the Middle of the night so they wait til the Morning. Make sure you don%26#39;t put the DME Luggage Tags on if you are getting your own Bags

The Nicest part about DME is that it%26#39;s FREE :)

We will be using this service for the 1st time. How does it work on the return trip?I was going to use the Virgin Check in desk at Cirque, Downtown Disney. If my return flight was taking off at 6pm, what time would the bus collect. At DTD they collected us as late as 4 which i loved, coz it gave me more time 4 shopping.

This service is great. Follow the instructions in the booklet. I had my booklet out when we walk through the airport. A Magical Express employee found us, he was holding a card that said Magical Express.

There is a check in desk, it is fast. Then you get in line according to your resort. We left about 3 minutes after we checked in. You get to watch a disney presentation on the bus.

Our luggage appeared like magic in our room after we went to MK.

You will get your information on your return trip the day before you check out, it will be hanging on your door.

We were able to use the flight check in the morning we left, but not all airlines do that.
