Disney Dining Plan Upgrade?

I am new to this website/forum. So far, I have heard some great advice and suggestions. A couple of people have mentioned the possible dining upgrade if traveling during August or September.

Does anyone know if you would get the upgrade if you had already booked your trip? Or would you only get it if you booked after they decided to do the upgrade?

Every Offer comes with conditions.

If you book a Package and a New Deal becomes available you might be able to switch to the new deal '; IF '; the Resort and the room you have already booked is part of the new deal.

Disney sets aside a limited number of rooms at only some of the Resorts.

I do fear that the Free Dining this year will be even more limited then it has been in the Past because some people already have the deal. It was offered to most people last year during the Fall. If you were there during the Free Dining in 2007, you could sign up for it again for this year.

You could of course book something now and when the new deal comes out, # 1 make a new reservation and # 2 then cancel your first reservation IF they can%26#39;t switch it for you.

Really hope I didn%26#39;t make that to hard to understand ( I had alot of Sugar today )

Rumor has it that the Offer should be announced by April 10th. It will be offered to Disney Visa Card Members a few days before that.

Partypa, I also heard the 10th April rumour. I will be out there at this time.

Im confused and need your help.... I understand that this offer doesnt include the Value resorts this time. So if i go to the Caribbean Resort in person will they let me have the deal? I think that the offer comes out at different times for UK %26amp; USA Residents. I wouldnt be able to book it for this August because we are going on Friday and have already booked for Christmas. Do you think they would let me book if for August 2009?

Sorry forgot to ask what dates have they previously offered for August %26amp; September?

partypa - have you been eating too many Easter Eggs?

Last year, we booked before the free DDP was announced, and we could not get it retrospectively. The only option would have been to cancel and rebook.

caz, the time frame was last week of August thru last week of September.

They ( Disney ) have done alot of '; Bounce Back '; offers here of late. So while you are staying there, make sure to ask about any Special Offers for booking for Next Year.

The wording for the Free Dining that is announced during April, always says '; General Public '; I have always taken that to mean '; ANYONE ';. In contrast to the UK Offers that say '; For UK residents only ';. I%26#39;m going to read the Fine Print, hopefully in about 2 weeks :)

I did indeed have a few too many Easter Treats yesterday.

I too was concerned for HITEFAM about Booking and then getting the Reservation Modified so I made it clear ( I was hoping I was making it clear ) that I thought it might be best to wait a little while til the Offer was announced.

If you have booked a room only and free dining is

announced,you have to cancel the original reservation and start over again-you can%26#39;t add it on-and you have to buy at least one day of MYW ticket though this is changing so Florida residents can get the Dining Plan and their discounts. I don%26#39;t know what you mean by an upgrade but free dining is often offered in September(traditionally slow time at Disney) and is announced in April or May. Keep an eye on www.mousesavers.com. If this is important to you,Disney Visa cardholders are given frist chance at these reservations.Its only a limited number of rooms but the economy is pretty slow so we%26#39;ll see.
