My DH and I have traveled to Destin every year for the past 25 years and for the first time we are going to PCB instead. We got scuba certified last year and will be diving in PCB. Can anyone recommend a close diving shop to where we will be staying at the Tidewater? Anyone stayed in unit 1800 by any chance? What restaurants are close to the tidewater?
I thank you! Tripadvisor.com has helped me plan many a vacation in my time - most of them in the caribbean. Thanks again!

There are 2 dive shops on Thomas Drive: The Dive Locker and Panama City Dive Center. This is on the opposite side of the beach where you are staying. Ron%26#39;s Surf Shop is in the new Pier Park, but I don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for. You might want to google the 2 dive shops for more information. Have a great trip!
I have used Panama City Dive shop several times and have been pretty pleased with them. They have trips daily to the reefs. There are a lot of bridge spans that have been dropped in for fishing and diving spots that can be reached on a 1/2 day trip. Lots of fish life and some wrecks as well.
I have a unit at Tidewater and can tell you there are great restaurants nearby. Go 2- 3 miles west to the Pasta Grill. Small place with great food and the pasty shop next door is great. Near the Grill is a nice breakfast spot called Mikes Diner. Only open for breakfast and lunch its not fancy but has lots of great food at great prices. Near the dive shop on the east end you will find the Treasure ship and Capt Andersons. They are both kinda fancy but the food is great in both locations. The locals spot down that end is Schooners, a bar/resturant on the beach for some real atmosphere and if you go North on 79 about 10 miles you will get to the intercoatal waterway. Directly under the bridge is Boondocks - great seafood. Looking for something romantic? Breakers about 4 miles east is the place. They have a piano player/singer enteraining and the entire front of the resturant is glass. So make reservations for 1/2 hour prior to sunset and watch the sun go down as you eat your meal. Enjoy

Oh Brian, thanks so much for this!!!
The closest dive shop to Tidewater in the Panama City Dive Shop, located at the corner of Thomas Drive just past Treasure Island. As for restaurants, I want to add Pineapple Willy%26#39;s (go for lunch so it%26#39;s not so crowded) and the Boatyard is pretty nice. It%26#39;s on Grand Lagoon and is owned by the same people that own Schooners. Hope this helps!
