How long is both the walk and shuttle ride to the public South Beach? (I%26#39;m willing to walk to a lot of my needs to save money.)
Hotel doesn%26#39;t charge you automatically for pool/private beach use, correct? You buy daily as you wish?
Best spots for shopping within walking and free shuttle of the hotel is?
I%26#39;m planning this trip after graduation as I am only 17 now, so I%26#39;m going to be saving money in any way I can.
If someone can please take a few minutes to answer, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Questions regarding Trump Sonesta Beach Resort in Miami
I stayed at the Trump in December. It is about a 30 minute cab ride to South Beach or Ft Lauderdale. But the beach at the Trump is very nice. If you did walk, it would be very long but I don%26#39;t know that I would be 17 and going on that long of a walk in a city I don%26#39;t know, probably not safe.
They only charge for the beach chairs if you use them, not automatically. No charge for use of the pool or the chairs at the pool. The pool area is very nice.
Aventura Mall is very close. But I did not go there, so I can%26#39;t advise if it is walking distance or if you need a cab/shuttle.
Questions regarding Trump Sonesta Beach Resort in Miami
Can anyone clarify for me if ';daily resort fee of $16.05 per night collected on behalf of the resort'; include charge for the beach chairs/umbrellas? I bought a package on Travelocity and it was part of the ‘deal’. Thanks.
Just to clarify, the beach that the Trump Resort is on is a public beach. In fact, the entire beach in Sunny Isles is a public beach. The Trump hotel has its private pool area just off the beach, but there is no charge for anyone (whether staying at this hotel or not) to go on the beach.
You would not be able to walk all the way down the beach to South Beach. There is a break in the shoreline at the Haulover Cut, which is where boats go through to get from the Intracoastal Waterway to the ocean and back again. Also, South Beach is pretty far: 20 - 30 minutes by car or bus depending on traffic.
BUT you can easily hop on the public ';S'; bus right on Collins Ave (in front of the hotel - just look for the nearest bus stop on the side of the street closest to the ocean) and it%26#39;s $1.50 each way. You take this bus all the way to Lincoln Road and then get out and walk around South Beach. (Don%26#39;t stay on the bus after Lincoln Road because it turns and go to downtown Miami, which is not on the beach.) Take a look at a map on-line, or ask the hotel concierge for a map when you%26#39;re there, and you will see where everything is. You can also go to the Sunny Isles Beach public library or City Hall, across the street from the Trump, and get bus schedules and route maps.
whoops, sorry for a slight mistake in previous post. The bus to go TO South Beach (or Bal Harbour) from the Trump (or anywhere in Sunny Isles) would be going South on the side of Collins Ave further away from the ocean. The side of Collins Ave closest to the ocean is the Northbound side of the street, and that%26#39;s where you%26#39;d get the bus to go to the Aventura Mall.
The ';S'; bus runs regularly in both directions.
Just keep in mind that you have to flag down the bus when you see it coming. The driver will not stop just because you are standing at the bus stop (as they do in some cities) - you must wave at the driver to let him/her know you want that particular bus to stop. (There are some other busses that come to the same stops; so be sure you take the ';S'; bus if you want to go to South Beach.)
