Estero Beach & Tennis Club Beach Access

I am visiting this condo complex April 28 for a few days with my parents. I would like to know about beach accessibity such as how far of a walk from the condo to the beach, what type of walking surface (can something be rolled on the path?), facilities available on the beach. I understand a lagoon separates the condos from the ocean - does one have to walk around the lagoon and down the beach or is there a bridge across the lagoon area for easier and faster beach access?

we just came back from this condo and yes there is an estuary in front of it but many people walk thru the water especially when tide is low it is very easy if you want to walk down the path to the Holiday Inn which is about a city block down then you can walk in sand to the gulf. There are no facilities but maybe you could ask at Holiday Inn. Lover%26#39;s Key State Park toward Bonita Spring = $5.00 admission for the day is beautiful beach area %26amp; has restrooms also has a ride from parking area to beach-free. There is small concession stand with hot dogs, hamburgers etc %26amp; a pavillion to sit and eat in if you bring your own food. We really love the state park. You can rent or bring your own beach chairs %26amp; umbrella. Enjoy your trip.

To walk to the end of the lagoon and open beach, it is probably 6 or 7 minutes... 1 to 2 tenths of a mile to the north.

The lagoon is very shallow, you should see a sandy spot just one or two buildings to the south where you can wade across (ankle to knee deep max).

In all shallow water around here, shuffle your feet when you walk during that time of year...on the beach side and in the lagoon... Stingrays tend to hunker down in the sand.

Shuffling your feet makes them scurry away harmlessly where if you step on one, you may get a very painful sting.

It is rare, but just keep your eyes open.

Enjoy our gorgeous weather...

By the way, I am a Realtor located right across the street from EBT in the Santini Plaza.

If you have any questions at all, let me know. I promise, no sales pitches. Call for anything. Its just southern hospitality.

Thanks for the info and the great tip about the sand shuffling to alert sleeping stingrays. That info should be on every FL forum for safety. I encountered a stingray migration last March in Long Boat Key and was glad someone pointed them out to me. They were close enough to view from the dry beach.

Hi,

My parent own one of those condos, I can only say I am so jealous you get to go there this month!

The beach is gorgeous. All the other advise about it is spot on, if you turn right you will probably see where people walk through the lagoon, or if you go left there are various places to cross. Be careful if you go left though, it can be shallow and then get deep in places.

The walking surface right is all sand, left is grassy path to the sand.

I know you didn%26#39;t ask this but....go right and keep walking to Outrigger, I LOVE the tiki bar in the evening for drinking Coors and watching the sun go down. Great atmosphere! Also do a good buffet breakfast at the same place, Dockside diner.

Have a great time!
