Last and final part!!

I did observe a significant number of Man-O-Wars washed up on the beach the first 2 days. The red and purple flags were out. Be sure to take your meat tenderizer and lidocaine gel. Did have one small sting, but nothing major. The water looked more like the Atlantic than the Gulf until the last day when it began to look like the Destin I am used to, but once again, it was all weather related. The beaches were spotless and there was zero seaweed.

Ate at the Crab-trap, now I only like one thing at this restaurant (everything else is really sub-par) except for their soft shell crabs. They were huge, juicy and fresh (I think they were getting them from Appalachacola(yes, I know I butchered that spelling, but my fingers are tired!) I could have eaten them everyday. The fish and shrimp were not good and to be honest, I constantly observe what is on other visitor%26#39;s plates and nothing looked worth ordering in my opinion with the exception of the soft-shell crabs. I could go on and on, but will stop boring you. We will return this summer. Ask any questions and I will try to answer. We had a grreat time, despite the weather.

Peaches - you violated the cardinal rule of the Destin Dining Adventure: Never Patronize Any Restaurant that has the word Crab in it%26#39;s Name!

Okay - some people say the Back Porch is awful but there are those of you that LOVE it! Well, I guess the Crab Trap is the same for me! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Crystal Beach Grouper with red potatoes! If someone can instruct me on how to make this myself then I would never have to go to Crab Trap - but until I can figue it out this is my favorite meal in Destin! Sorry - I am a weirdo!

Tater, I was referring to soft shell crabs, not crab legs. They are two different crustaceans. I like the legs, but soft shell blue crabs are my all time favorite!

Very nice report! And don%26#39;t worry about length. I did one last December that went on forever and it wasn%26#39;t even about a vacation. Of course in December people are so desparate for the beach that they will read anything remotely related!!!
