If you have a car and you visit Sunny Isles Beach on vacation, on a business trip or conference, bring plenty of money because you WILL pay for parking. The City should be ashamed that there are no public parking garages anywhere!
If you have a car, don;t bother visiting Sunny Isles Beach!
Is there a large city anywhere that allows free parking?
They%26#39;re the exception, and not the rule.
You have to pay to park in cities.

Do you have any idea how much the land cost here?
Judging from your comments you don%26#39;t, and just who do you think would pay for such a garage.
Residents have free parking, guest have to pay, welcome to the real world.
May I suggest New York for your next visit or even closer Miami.
Thank you for the insight on parkingand your view on what the city should do for thier guests. You wouldthink a city that thrives on ';our'; tourist dollars would be more open than, we who live here park for free and guests pay to park. So glad I read your post before making a decision on going to that place. Oh and in case the good ole folks of sunny Isles have not noticed, land is expensive every where and any major city i have ever visited offers public parking.
Tampa most assuredly doesn%26#39;t have free parking for guests or residents.
It%26#39;s a city...you pay to park, whether it%26#39;s a public or private lot.
Paying for parking is kind of like breathing -- you want to exist there, you gotta do it.
Uh....I have news for you. You have to pay to park anywhere in Detroit. And guess what, the land is very cheap and it is definitely not anything glamorous that anyone would want to visit. Paying for parking when on vacation....that seems like a given to me. It is the same in any island location or big city I have been.
If you stay in a hotel you pay them for parking. If you just go to a restaurant or shopping, there are free parking spaces in the strip malls. There is also free parking at the City Hall/Public Library complex and a big free parking area by the Publix Supermarket. Obviously these parking spaces are designed primarily for people coming to do business in these establishments. There is also a limited amount of parking available by some of the public-access beach parks, but not very many spaces because most people just walk to the beach. Residents in the local condos pay monthly fees for their assigned parking spaces in their buildings.
There are no parking garages other than those attached to condo or hotel buildings. Sunny Isles Beach is a very small city, and you can walk or take a bus just about everywhere. There is even a free community bus - free to visitors as well as residents, in addition to the public transportation buses. How many other cities offer free buses to visitors?
