Camping on the beach

Ok, I%26#39;m trying to decide whether to go for Bahia Honda State Park, Long Key State Park or Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge.

Here%26#39;s what I%26#39;m after: A place where I can camp on the beach or as close to the beach as possible. With that in mind, which of the above do you think I%26#39;d like the best? Thanks!

Camping on the beach

The campsites at Long Key are right on the beach. Those at Bahia Honda (Sandspur) are not far from the beach but not right on the water.

Big Pine Fishing Lodge is a nice place, but, it doesn%26#39;t really have a beach.

Long Key is right on the beach - also look at Curry Hammock State Park- they also have a nice, right on the beach, camping area.

If you%26#39;re driving from SC, look at Anastasia (sp) State Park near St Augustine, always enjoyed that campground.

Don%26#39;t know when you%26#39;re going but you%26#39;ll be lucky to get in a state park anytime soon.

We just returned from Pennekamp and Bahia Honda.

Stopped in Curry Hammock laast year. No vegetation around the campsites. And the gate was closed in the middle of the day this year.?

Long Key had some construction and rebuilding of some of the sites.

Bahia Honda is still a favorite. A few sites in the Sandspur area are right on the beach. Some others are just across a street.

Long Key has just cut down ALL the pines - no shade at all - looks barren. I%26#39;d go Bahia Honda. If you are tent camping you should be able to get in - rv%26#39;s not so much. Curry Hammock has nice RV sites but no beach camping. Enjoy
