Hi all.....first post in this forum. We are starting to seriously plan a trip to WDW at the beginning of December. Being from Arizona and never having traveled to Florida, we are clueless to the weather conditions there. Could someone give me an idea of what the weather/temps are like that time of the year? I would very much appreciate it!
Any other advice for 1st timers would be welcome...
Thanks in advance...
Terry
Weather in December
I went in December for the first time last year, during the first week of the month.
The weather was dry, but very cool in the mornings and evenings, but warming up during the day.
The key to clothing is layers. We needed sweats in the mornings and evenings, but t-shirts and shorts during the day.
December is unpredictable in Orlando, so you need to come prepared for temps anywhere from 30 to 80. Layers is the key.

Sounds like fall here in Arizona. You are chilly in the morning and eveings, but warm during the middle part of the day. Thanks very much for your answer!
reading in general it%26#39;s best to take advice from kit-klub the last 2 years i%26#39;ve been late november and it%26#39;s been great ( weather at home -10 2006 %26amp; -5 2007 ) but this year it%26#39;s december for me
That is a great time to go.right before Christmas breaks,so the crowds are low.And the Decorations are amazing. You have to see the Osbourne spectacle of lights at Hollywood studos.A soundstage like town with like 50 billion lights all themed to sparkle in timed to the music....very cool.
We went Dec. 11 a few years ago. At about 8:00 am, you could see your breath. Cool %26amp; crisp, but fleece sweatshirts ok. By afternoon, beautiful 70 ish. At around 6:00 pm the second the sun goes down, it was cold.
We%26#39;d left our winter coats in the car in KC. We froze, almost to the point of being miserable. Wish we%26#39;d had gloves and a coat. We saw other people in Disney winter coats. The%26#39;d obviously gotten cold %26amp; bought them there....
Definately dress in layers and take extra stuff. You can always stash it in a locker when you don%26#39;t need it.
Sounds fantastic. Thanks, everyone! I%26#39;ll be honest that it%26#39;s a touch nerve wracking to plan this trip - I%26#39;m so unfamiliar with WDW (we%26#39;re DL people for the most part), but I figure I can%26#39;t possibly screw it up that bad as long as I have tickets, a plane ride, and a room for everyone, right? LOL! This is kind of our last chance to take our children while they are still ';kids'; - our oldest will be 18 and in college by the time we go, so I know it%26#39;ll be great memories for us and a great family Christmas present for entire family.

I know how you feel...my oldest is sixteen, and we are trying to fit in all the Disney memories we can till she leaves us:( Trying really hard to talk her into staying here and going to USM!!)
Our daughter is staying close for college (ASU), but you know as well as I do that once she starts into college, old mom and dad aren%26#39;t going to seem so entertaining anymore! So we%26#39;ve got this trip planned, a trip to San Diego in 3 weeks, and are trying to work in a trip to Gettysburg (she and my son have always wanted to go there) at some point. I guess we just feel like her ';kid-dome'; is slipping away very quickly! How depressing!!! LOL!
