This is my Dream Vacation!

I have been waiting many years for my dream vacation and I will get it at the end of this month when I visit Marco Island! We are from the Northeast and interested in an area where there are day trips to do as well as lounging on the beach. This is supposed to be a romantic getaway for me and my husband. We do not have children and do not want a ';family friendly'; type of hotel. We do not mind kids, we just don%26#39;t want the hotel to be over-run with them. We have pretty much decided upon the Marco Beach Ocean Resort as it seems to be more adult oriented than the Hilton or Marriott. We are excited to rent jet-skis and/or go parasailing, can%26#39;t wait to go snorkeling, etc. We plan to visit the Everglades one day and take the ferry to Key West for a day as well. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a mid-30s couple looking for a relaxing, pleasant time in Marco Island.

We have done a couples massage! AWESOME!

Take a day trip north to Naples for a beautiful lunch or dinner. Go to the Turtle Club for a table on the sand. Or to the Ritz Carlton or another high-end hotel for drinks or dinner. Walk around the 5th Avenue shopping area.

Rent a deck boat for a 1/2 day and find your way to Keewaydin Island. Take the sunset cruise on the Kahuna catamaran. Very fun and you can bring whatever food or drinks that you%26#39;d like.

We have rented jet-skis with www.marcoadventures.com. Great experience. We saw dolphins up close. Also went to a secluded island for wonderful shelling. Left for the day with a cd with pictures. Fun time.

My husband parasailed in July, 2007. He went to the booth that sits on the beach right outside of the Marriott. Cannot remember the name. The crew was helpful, nice and safety conscious. My husband said it was the experience of a lifetime! I was too chicken to go but got to ride along.

Enjoy Marco. It is a magica place.

When are you going? Makes a huge difference. Off season - Marriott is what your looking for. During season - Marco Resort - not the Marriott, but close.

Thank you all for your ideas. We are definitely staying at the Marco Ocean Beach Resort. We plan to have dinner at the Ritz-Carlton, that should be fabulous. We also plan to take the ferry from Ft. Myers to Key West, as I am dying to visit there. Thank you again and any further ideas are appreciated!
