We are coming to Siesta Key 6/21-6/28 and want a place close to Point Of Rocks so that we will be close to snorkeling. We need a 2bd room with the 2nd room with two twin beds, and prefer oceanfront with a pool. I am looking into Siesta Sands Resort but cannot find much info about them. If anyone can give me there opinions of them, or suggest another complex I would really appreciate it.
accommodations close to Point Of Rocks?
There is a review for Siesta Sands on this TA page.

I would contact the poster through a private message to get more information.
Each condo is different...
There are many nice condos on Crescent Beach. Do you have a budget in mind?

accommodations close to Point Of Rocks?
Not over 1500.00 for the week, but the main thing is that I want to be in the area of Point Of Rocks, and ocean front. If you know of any good places, let me know.
Thanks so much!!! Gollyga

You could check out Sea Club V. It is a great place to stay. Not sure it is in your budget, though.

Thanks for sending me the links. The pics of Point of Rocks, and Point of Rocks road look great. It has that real islandy look to it. We really want to be as close as possible to it because we plan on doing quite a bit of snorkeling. From the pics it looks like Siesta Sands is right next to it, am I right? It looks like you get the best of both worlds, the great white sand beach, and a good place to snorkel. I can%26#39;t wait to visit SK! It looks like a really great place!
Thanks, Gollyga
The Siesta Key Inn might be the ideal place for you... They have a 2BR King/Queen condo and a 3BR condo with 2 Kings plus 2 twin beds that are actually in separate rooms. Visit them at:

You can swim to Point O%26#39; Rocks easily from any place on Sara Sea Circle or Point of Rocks Rd. And I guarantee you will love Crescent Beach! The sand is 99.9% white quartz and looks and feels like sugar.
I saw a video of that specific area for snorkeling and I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s a true snorkeling spot if you%26#39;re used to coral, colorful tropical fish, and pristine water.
If you are looking for a simple place to snorkel, Point of Rocks may be for you, unless you are used to what I described above.
I think the video was on something called beachunter? Can anyone advise us?
Thanks.
You are correct. This is not Belize or the Florida Keys where you find coral and exotic tropical fish.
It is still a nice place to snorkel.

It%26#39;s definitely not an experience to write home about. You won%26#39;t find living coral or exotic shells, but you will see all kinds of fish -- some brightly colored -- and lots and lots of ROCKS (lol)! It%26#39;s actually perfect for kids or beginners because A) you can snorkel directly from the southern end of Crescent Beach, and B) it%26#39;s shallow enough to stand up in most spots if you need to. Even seasoned snorkelers like to see different sights every once in a while, and this is certainly different.
I say go for it! I guarantee you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Crescent Beach and Siesta Key!!! Whether or not the snorkeling lets you down... You can always take a boat trip to Egmont Key or Shell Island for snorkeling, or drive down to Venice for shelling %26amp; shark toothing.
Here are my top 5 reasons to vacation on Siesta Key:
1. wide uncrowded beach and warm shallow water are perfect for playing or relaxing
2. Siesta Key is off the beaten path and very peaceful, but still close enough to Sarasota to go shopping on St. Armand%26#39;s Circle :-D
3. tropical foliage and birds... orchids, frangipani, green parrots, oh my!
4. great restaurants like Captain Curt%26#39;s, Javier%26#39;s, etc.
5. snorkeling at Point O%26#39; Rocks
