We plan on visiting Siesta Key in June and are looking for a condo/townhouse/villa to stay in for a week. We%26#39;ve got young kids (5 and 18 months) so we%26#39;d like to stay fairly close to the beach to minimize hassle, IYKWIM. We%26#39;re also planning to bring our kayak and bikes, so we%26#39;d really like to have a garage available to store them in. I%26#39;ve looked into Gulf and Bay Bayside Condos as well as Siesta Key Rentals which has two townhomes on Calla Menorca. Both say they%26#39;re just ';steps away'; from the beach but when I look at Google maps, they seem to be a bit of a hike. Does anyone know about either of these places or have any other suggestions? Thanks!

We have booked at sunset royale. It is an appartment house just across the beach. But I don%26#39;t know if they have a garage or a place to store your bikes and kayaks. Just ask John - he is very friendly and helpful. www.sunsetroyale.net

I am not sure about a garage for storage at Gulf and Bay Club....

Calle Menorca is close to Siesta Village.
What is your budget and I assume you want 2 bedrooms?

We%26#39;re now looking at two other places, one is the Siesta Sands Condos and the other is a private home on Beach Road. Siesta Sands doesn%26#39;t have a garage but it does have covered parking. I really don%26#39;t care too much but my husband is also petrified someone is going to steal our kayak! We would like at least two bedrooms as close to the beach as possible. Is the Siesta Sands a good location?

Which Siesta Sands?
The Siesta Sands Resort on Crescent Beach or Siesta Sands on the Beach?

2 different places.

I noticed all the places you are looking at are by Siesta Village.
Another option is on the south end of Siesta.
It%26#39;s called Fishermans Cove and it is secure, nice units, is on the beach and is a great place to kayak etc. There are mangrove islands etc. directly south.

The one we%26#39;re looking at is on Point of Rocks Road. My husband, bless him, wants to snorkel and kayak and have soft sand for the kids, so I figured this location might fit the bill for the most part. I asked him whether he wants to be closer to good snorkeling or good kayaking...his response...both! I looked at Fisherman%26#39;s Cove and the units look really nice, but is the sand hard to walk on? I notice it%26#39;s down toward Turtle Beach?
Here is a review of Siesta Sands:

Yes. Fisherman%26#39;s Cove is on Turtle Beach and the sand is not of the same quality as Crescent Beach.
Here are some recommended places:
Jamaica Royale
Midnight Cove- Gulfside
Sea Club V
Crystal Sands
Sea Crest Apartments
these are all on Crescent Beach.

You can also use vrbo/vacationrentals etc. websites.

I saw that review, I wish there were more reviews on here. The unit we%26#39;re looking at is a different one and I know that has a lot to do with what you get. The site for this particular unit has several positive reviews from previous guests but who know, right. I sent an inquiry to Siesta Key Inn and Sea Club V. The more I look around, the more undecided I become. There are SOO many options!
Well, the good news is that you have some time to decide.
High season is over by June and rates will be lower.
Are you using www.vrbo.com and www.vacationrentals.com? Good places to look.
Some people also use Expedia etc.
