the countdown is ON! We leave NJ about 3:00 pm on Friday for the long drive down. Can%26#39;t wait to get there. Everything is packed and ready to leave.

48 hours from this moment we will be in Ft. Myers on our way (probably lost but happy anyway) to Sanibel...iIf the airline fairies are with us the whole way (we are hoping our luggage arrives as well!) We wil be out looking for you and the bar (oops don%26#39;t tell my son I said that...). We are so ready and so packed...hope to see you soon! I am leaving a lot of jealous friends behind- when I say we are going to Sanibel everyone is so excited for us!

I am beyond envious. I don%26#39;t think I can wait until November to go again. Have a very, very safe trip to all of you and can%26#39;t wait to hear everyone%26#39;s reports.

True - I pack a change of clothes and bathing suit for everyone in one of our carryon%26#39;s. So if the luggage is lost, who cares? All I need is my bathing suit and my sunglasses :))))

So, I guess I%26#39;ll be the first one in. My flight leaves Denver Wed. at 5:30pm landing in Ft. Myers 11:30pm. Thursday I imagine I%26#39;ll be along Wildlife Drive in the refuge a good part of the day, Friday I%26#39;ve got plans to kayak from Dixie Beach Road into Tarpon Bay and then back into the Lady Finger Lakes area. Both days will be sunny and warm!

Shell Net-the drive down will take 18-19 hours. We are not sure if we will be driving straight thru or stopping off for some sleep. It all depends upon how we feel. There will be three drivers. As I feel now..I could drive forever to get there, but when it%26#39;s dark and the roads are long...who knows. South of Washington DC, the road is long and boring at night and that is the longest stretch. It takes 12 hours for us to reach Savannah, GA and if we go straight through the sun should be coming up about there. Then it%26#39;s about 6-7 hrs to go!

I will be thinking of you both as we are driving! Don%26#39;t get too sunburned!

Sunday for us will be a day of rest at the beach

Monday is planned for the Everglades

Tuesday is beach and Ding Darling

Wednesday is pontoon boat from Jensens

True...take your son and mom up to Jensens marina and check out the manatees that hang out around the docks. My best times for seeing them have been in the early evening 6-8

Excited? Me? Whew....I feel like a kid and am counting the number of sleeps till we go...2 more! As I have said before..there is something about going to Sanibel %26amp; Captiva that is special. Most people that have been there are bitten by the same bug.

I have down the manatees as a note I read somewhere-thanks for the tip on best time...he will think I rock if he sees wild manatees.

We will be on the Tram Sunday 10 and kayaking on Tuesday 10:30...we shall find each other!

Yes, fish tacos are good too, but very mild, so don%26#39;t expect spicy. Also try the brownie with ice cream or the carrot cake.

The shrimp though - yummmmmmmm.

Doc Fords is a must! There will be 8 of us there. We will most def order up fish taco, buffalo shrimp, brownies with ice cream and carrot cake! Sounds like a party starting....let%26#39;s not forget the cold beer. Maybe Randy will be there... his son was there last year..we had him sign our book.
