A visit to Celebration.......Hit or Miss ?????

Hi everyone,

Off to Orlando next month, and during our stay we are considering a day trip to Celebration.

We have read some mixed reviews on the town, and would like to know the opinion of previous visitors.

So the question is...

Celebration......Hit or Miss !!!

and you reasons why ???

HIT..... I wouldn%26#39;t say it warrented a %26#39;day trip%26#39;, nice to do lunch, there%26#39;s a nice Italian and the 50%26#39;s dinner also does excellent, reasonably priced food, $5 shake is worth a trip all on it%26#39;s own! You can then go for a stroll around the lakes, this will take you to the back of some of the biggest homes in Celebration, it%26#39;s also worth a drive around if you like to see how the other half live! If you play golf the course at Celebration is also excellent, but can be pricey, depending on the time of year.

Celebration..OK but has a slight feel of the Stepford wives about it..regimented.

I found there was very little to do, but did have a nice meal there. A couple of hours is plenty, but be sure to leave before the sun goes down...just in case...

Celebration is a cute town. When we visited it years ago, we really enjoyed the stop. Now most areas of the US have similar ';planned'; communities so it isn%26#39;t quite as new as it was then. I%26#39;d say miss.

Celebration is a town created by Disney (although no longer owned by them).

Mainly expensive residential housing. One small street of shops called Market Street and at the bottom of this is a lake. There is also a small cinema and a few restaurants.

This would definitely not warrant a day out, maybe just an hour or so, or a meal there if you fancied.

Agree with previous posters - very Stepford Wives!

i love this place, would live there if i could!! yes it looks like something out of a film set, but i think it is great, the houses are magnificent. we go for lunch a couple of times when we are there, we love the market street cafe, great milkshakes and the best coconut cream pie!!

I highly recomend it! We were just there last week and spent half a day there. We sat on a deck, had coffee, walked around the lakes, admired the beautiful homes. I would LOVE to live there. I say HIT and depending what you like to do , you could make a half day of it.
