The Plantation Inn

I have friends going to CR for a couple nights the second week of April to get their dive certification. It will be 8 people total, two families with teenagers, 4 people to a room. Would Plantation Inn be a good place to stay? The mothers will not be doing the dive thing; is there anything for them to do? They like shopping, restaurants, a nice pool with pool bar. What do you think? Thanks for your replies.

While I have not been there recently I do know that they have recently undergone a massive refurbishment and new construction. From what I have heard it was beautifly done. I would check with them directly as to the size of the room. I do know that they are very interested in expanding there reputation. As for shopping there is a mall approx. 3 miles from the Plantation and there is a nice downtown area with some small shops, antiques and cafes. Cafe on the Avenue is a nice place and also on Highway 19 there is a restaurant called the Wine and Cheese shop that has exellent food. Dont let the location put you off they are in a strip mall but it is really a lovely place.
