Just driving through

I am planning on driving to Key West in August from Ft. Lauderdale. I want to explore the other Keys a little on my way there and back, and possibly spend a night there each way. What are your tips for must-see/do things in the Keys? And if you could recommend a nice little hotel for cheap since I would only be sleeping there, that would be awesome, too. Thanks!

I have a townhouse in Key Largo MM100 if no one is staying there (Like Me) that night you are more than welcome to stay there for FREE just let me know what night you need to stay so I can tell the guard at the gate so he will let you in. At MM100 is sure breaks up the drive.

I also have family in Ohio that come down and stay all the time at my place.
