Dirty Laundry!

Has anyone used the laundry service at the Contemporary Resort? We will have a tower room and I hear the laundry is in the wing. Thats a long way to shlep your dirty duds thru the lobby and past everyone! Some of the Disney guide books say its expensive but don%26#39;t mention the price. ??? bye

My wife told me Florida has a state law prohibiting visitors from doing laundry while in the Sunshine State. We always bring the dirties home. Buy more cleans if you run out of clothes.LOL

We will be staying at the Contemporary in May and I **think** that is $2.00 to wash and 2.00 (or more) to dry. This will be our first time staying at this resort. I agree that is a long way to go to wash your lanudry! But it is a must do for us, considering we have small children.

With a family of five, I always have to make at least one trip to the laundry room. We have always stayed in Disney resorts, and the cost is the same at each resort. $2 to wash and, I believe $2 to dry! It is crazy! The dryers usually have required more than one cycle, too! One thing I do to save a little money is bring a travel size laundry detergent. Bcuz, they charge at least a $1 or $2 for that as well. You can pick the little boxes up at Target, etc.

Surely that can%26#39;t be right about visitors being prohibited from doing laundry in Florida, by state law. I%26#39;ve never heard of anything so ridiculous!

:) I dont think it is REALLY a law. I think he meant it was the excuse his wife uses to not have to do laundry. :)

I refuse to cook/clean/or do laundry while on vacation. Not a vacation for me if I have to.

However, if I were staying for 3 weeks vs. 7 or 8 days, then it would probably be necessary. Everything is clean when we leave, then I do it all up when we return.

I like the Sunshine State Law. I think they have some other good ones too.....

OH! I see, I%26#39;m with you now. Sorry, I took it literally!

I don%26#39;t mind doing the odd bit of laundry. It%26#39;s a matter of having to when you come for 2/3weeks. A different change of clothes, sometimes 2 changes every day is ALOT of clothing for 4 people.

But I do draw the line there, there will be NO and I stress NO cooking on holiday!

By the way, Mickeyfan, I%26#39;ve found $2 is pretty much standard in any US hotel for a wash and I don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s too bad at all. I%26#39;m surprised the Contemporary has a guest laundry. Hotels we%26#39;ve been in of that standard don%26#39;t have one - only a laundry cleaning service which they charge an arm and a leg for so you%26#39;re lucky to have that facility.
