June Trip...want nice beach and low cost place to stay

We will be making our first trip to Siesta Key on June 17th and staying for 3 nights. We have two daughters age 10 and 8 and are just looking for a decent place to stay on the beach. It doesn%26#39;t take a lot to entertain our kids since they%26#39;re used to camping and this will be just a mini-vacation (thanks to $10 airfare tickets through Skybus!!!) that we%26#39;re taking and we%26#39;d like to make it as cheap as possible. So far, the best price I%26#39;ve seen is at Tropical Shores beach resort. Does anyone else have any recommendations? We%26#39;re flying into Punta Gorda airport and we%26#39;ll be renting a car, but we still prefer to be directly on the beach because it%26#39;s a hassle to drive to the beach every day with our girls.

Thank you! We just booked with Tropical Sun. I know it%26#39;s not rated as high as Tropical Shores, but since they are owned by the same company, I%26#39;m not too worried. It%26#39;s just a short trip and we don%26#39;t plan on spending much time in the room at all.

I too was one of those people that thought I was lucky and landed $10.00 skybus tickets. We were flying out of GSO to FLL, then driving to the Keys. Now our plans have changed and I lucked up and got tickets on Allegiant Air for $19.00 each way. If you haven%26#39;t already gotten replacement tickets you might want to check them out since they are staying at GSO. We will be getting to Siesta Key when you guys are leaving. Hope you have a great trip.
