Dining and Libations at St. A Beach

I%26#39;m staying in St. Augustine Beach at a condo near the city pier. I%26#39;m curious what the bars/restaurants are like close to the pier. I know there are probably some great options in the town near the fort and their downtown but I was unsure about near where I%26#39;m staying. I%26#39;m not looking for Dukes at Waikiki but something other than a ';neighborhood'; Applebees. I saw a blip about a place called Pelican Pub. I liked the look of it. Are there a couple places like that or should I expect to ride over to the town to for a draught beer with some locals?

well if u are in St.Augustine Beach , downtown st aug is a must visit area so u will have best of both worlds :) There are bars and restaurants near pier one is sunset grille its a bar and restaurant so does panama hatties. There is also beachcomber restaurant on A street and mango mangos is on A street as well. Also St.Augustine Beach doesn%26#39;t have a downtown so our only downtown is St.Augustine as well. Also you can easily go to town which is 6 minutes from where you are

what about pelican pub? Anything for it? Anything against it?

Pelican Pub is on a1a in a strip mall. It is mostly a local place with lots of darts and pool tables. Decent beer prices with a happy hour every day 11:00-7:00 am. Not a bad little place, but not really ';beachy'; if that is what your looking for.

Hi LivesinMo i don%26#39;t know anything about pelican pub on the plaza aia but i heard some locals goes there for happy hour not really a beachy place since its on aia . Beachcomber is the only restaurant bar is on the beach.

You may be able to drive to Sunset Grill - not bad fare (not on the beach, however, but across the street.) Also F.A. Cafe is okay. Right on the beach that you can walk to, not by the pier, sorry. You can also drive (not far) to Beachcomer - good beachy place and going towards town (not on the beach) but still on the Island is Gypsy Cab. Good food - large portions - don%26#39;t need appetizers with the meals - too much food, but then you can take back to your condo and heat up for dinner!

What do the locals have to say about Jack%26#39;s on the beach?

Jacks bbq is a nice place as well they have live music on weekends and wednesday night i believe they play 80s . Not my kinda place it is a crowded area
